When dialing from outside the U.S., replace the 011 or 1 prefix with the appropriate international call access code for the country in which you are located. Below is a list of some country codes:

  • Argentina, Chile, Europe, New Zealand: 00
  • Australia: Voice—0011, Fax—0015
  • Canada: 011
  • South Africa: 09

The Nathaniel B. Palmer Ocean Code changes frequently as it works in both the Peninsula and Ross Sea areas. If unsure of the code, contact ASC Marine Operations for further information.

Cellular Numbers and Service

Cellular service is also available on both vessels and can be used within three to five kilometers of a port with cellular service. At this time, both vessels have access to the Punta Arenas and Talcahuano, Chile cellular service. The Nathaniel B. Palmer also has cellular access in Lyttelton, New Zealand.
