Description

This team plans to film, photograph, and record science research conducted by the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration. The material gathered will be multi-faceted to highlight the work both US and UK scientists are studying at Thwaites Glacier. This project will highlight ITGC in the short, medium, and long term in both domestic markets and globally via a series of news reports for television and radio, a half hour documentary broadcast on Our World and BBC World TV, and inclusion in the final episode of the BBC’s Frozen Planet II to be broadcast in 2021. The audiences of these media pieces will be far-reaching, both in quantity and demographic.

Field Season Overview

A team of three plus one media handler, the BAS Director of Science, will deploy to McMurdo Station and then to WAIS Divide. They will also take opportunities to visit other field camps when possible. The media handler will manage the visit, act as a point of liaison, and undertake specific coordination and liaison work on behalf of the ITGC program.
